Sanofi: investments in vaccines in France

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi plans to invest 610 million euros to establish a new global center of excellence in vaccine research and production in France.

The biopharmaceutical group announces that it will spend 490 million euros over five years to build a new state-of-the-art industrial site in Neuville sur Saône, near Lyon, which will feature the most innovative technologies.

This project alone is expected to create nearly 200 new jobs.

At the same time, Sanofi has also decided to invest 120 million euros to create a new R&D centre on the Sanofi Pasteur site in Marcy-l'Etoile, a town also located in the Lyon area.

This ultra-modern, digital complex will house biosafety laboratories that in particular will enable the development of "tomorrow's vaccines" against emerging diseases and pandemic risks, the group said.
