Total: discovery on block offshore Suriname
(CercleFinance.com) - Total and Apache announce that they have made a major discovery on the Maka Central-1 prospect of Block 25, located offshore from Suriname, in the wake of the discoveries made in the adjacent Guyanese block of Stabroek.
The Maka Central-1 well passed through a column exceeding 123 net metres of light, high-quality oil and gas condensates. Drilling and further testing will be conducted to assess the volume of resources and productivity of the reservoir.
This well was drilled by Apache, the operator, with 50%, and Total, as a partner, also with 50%. The next well will be drilled on the Sapakara West-1 prospect, with Total being transferred the role of operator, after a third exploration well.
