Total: reaches agreement to buy Anadarko's assets
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that it has entered into an agreement with Occidental to acquire Anadarko's assets in Africa for 8.
8 billion dollars, in the event that Occidental is successful in its ongoing bid for the acquisition of Anadarko.
This transaction, which is expected to be finalised in 2020, depends on the signing and finalisation of Occidental's planned acquisition of Anadarko and approval from the relevant authorities.
All of these assets, which are located in Algeria, Ghana, Mozambique and South Africa, represent about 1.2 billion barrels of proven and probable reserves, 70% of which are gas, as well as two billion barrels of long-term gas resources in Mozambique.
