Nexans: wins wind farm contract of over 150 million euros
(CercleFinance.com) - The group has announced signing a major contract for an energy export cable for the Hornsea 2 wind farm in Ørsted.
The contract is worth over 150 million euros.
The project involves the supply of a subsea system of more than 200 km of 245 kV HVAC (high voltage alternating current) export cables.
Located in the North Sea about 89 km from the English coast of Yorkshire, the 1.4 GW offshore wind farm will be the largest in the world once it is operational. Phase 2 of the Hornsea project will generate enough electricity to power over 1.3 million households. Ørsted has entered the construction phase of the project, which is set to be completed in 2022.
