Air France-KLM: operating loss increased by strikes

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM has published a Q1 2018 operating loss of 118 million euros, including about 75 million euros related to recent strikes, compared to a loss of 33 million euros in Q1 2017.

Robust demand resulted in a 5.7% increase in traffic for the Franco-Dutch airline, with a 1.7 point increase in the group's load factor, and unit revenue that is up 1.2% at constant exchange rates.

Some forecasts have been adjusted to take into account the impact of strikes, representing at least 300 million euros on operating income, as well as the macroeconomic context. As a result, the group's 2018 operating result is expected to decrease significantly compared to 2017.
