Nokia: new ambitions in 5G IoT services
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has invested in a 5G lab in Dallas, Texas, to which operators can connect and begin testing IoT use cases, the Finnish telecoms gear maker said on Tuesday.
The move comes as part of Nokia's expansion in managed service and edge technology, with the aim of helping operators in offering 5G IoT services without having to invest in global infrastructure.
The company said it is currently developing a "pay-as-you-go" business model that enables the scaling of 5G IoT services faster and at lower costs.
