Nokia: 5G network for huge shopping center in Helsinki
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia and Telia have launched the 5G network in the largest shopping center in the Nordics.
The group will supply Telia's 5G network in the new Mall of Tripla in Helsinki.
Retail is set be one of the big beneficiaries of 5G. In-store retailers will be able to use voice and visual recognition, facial and video recognition, as well as personalised signage and in-store entertainment experiences.
"5G will also enable greater control over stock levels and supply chain, improved customer insights thanks to video analytics of customer behavior, and in-store robotics to better handle item movements and placements in the retail environment," the group said.
Ari Kynäslahti, Head of Mobile Networks Product Management at Nokia, said, "The retail industry has the potential to be one of the big beneficiaries of 5G".
