Nokia: enters 'exclusive' sale talks for digital health unit
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has entered into exclusive negotiations for the sale of its digital health business to Withings' co-founder Eric Carreel, the Finnish company said on Wednesday.
The telecom equipment maker plans to sell the unit to the former chairman of Withings, which Nokia bought in April 2016 with the aim to develop in the health sector.
Nokia said the move is part of its shift to becoming a business-to-business and licensing company.
The deal is expected to close in at the end of second-quarter 2018.
