TUI Group: to expand cruise capacities as demand grows

(CercleFinance.com) - German leisure tourism group TUI Group said that it is planning to expand its cruise fleet in Germany and UK, due to a continued increase in demand.

The Hannover-based group - whose cruise fleet currently consists of 15 cruise ships - has decided to increase capacities by keeping the Mein Schiff 2 in the fleet after 2019.

For the record, the ship was originally set to transfer to TUI's British subsidiary Marella Cruises.

At the same time, TUI will acquire SkySea Golden Era from Royal Carribean Cruises for its British cruise subsidiary.

The planned changes within TUI Cruises' fleet are expected to increase the number of vessels to 18 by 2023, the group said.
