Commerzbank: Jens Weidmann elected board chairman
(CercleFinance.com) - Commerzbank announces the election of Jens Weidmann, the former President of the German Central Bank (Bundesbank), to succeed Helmut Gottschalk as the new Chairman of its Supervisory Board.
This election, unanimously approved by the members of the Supervisory Board, came at the close of the shareholders' AGM, who elected Jens Weidmann as a member of the Board by a large majority.
The AGM also approved a dividend of 20 cents per share for 2022, resuming a distribution that has been interrupted for four years. Commerzbank is also planning a share buyback program of E122m in the near future.
