Volkswagen: truck and bus sales up 16% in first quarter
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen has said that its first-quarter truck and bus sales soared by 16% to 53,220 vehicles, highlighting the German carmaker's strong commercial momentum.
The group's truck division - that includes the MAN and Scania brands - sold 46,770 trucks over the first three months of the year, up 11% year-on-year.
Europe's largest carmaker also delivered a total of 5,110 buses in the past quarter, approximately 36% more than in the previous year, primarily helped by stronger sales in South America.
