ThyssenKrupp: Supervisory Board Chairman leaves

(CercleFinance.com) - The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp, Ulrich Lehner, will step down from his role during the AGM of 31 July, the group announced last night.

The German industrial group, which has recently signed an agreement to merge its steelmaking business with Tata Steel in Europe, has already seen the departure of its Chief Executive. On 5 July, Heinrich Hiesinger asked to step down and has since been replaced in the interim by Guido Kerkhoff.

As was the case with M. Hiesinger, M. Lehner cited disagreements within the group. He declared that “The confidence of the major shareholders and a joint understanding within the supervisory board on the strategic direction of ThyssenKrupp were the basis for my work [...] This is no longer a given”.
