Daimler: update after virtual AGM

(CercleFinance.com) - At its virtual AGM, Daimler announced its intention to continue and intensify its electric mobility strategy.

The company also said that, in this area, it has the broadest product range in the automotive industry, from city cars to trucks.

Daimler emphasises the group's resistance to the pandemic: the 2020 financial year was "better than expected". In addition, it increased its dividend from 0.9 euro in 2019 to 1.35 euro in 2020, which is in line with the company's long-term dividend policy.

The car manufacturer is confident about 2021, anticipating both sales and EBIT to be significantly above the previous year's levels, despite the temporary shortage of semiconductors.

Daimler was also able to detail its Ambition2039 plan, which aims to accelerate the group's transformation towards net zero, and to mention the future spin-off of Daimler Truck, which is still being prepared.

Finally, the German company announced changes to its supervisory board, with the departures of Petraea Heynicke, Jürgen Hambrecht and Manfred Bischoff. Bernd Pischetsrieder succeeds Manfred Bischoff as chairman of the supervisory board.
