Nestle: buys British dog food company
(CercleFinance.com) - Nestle, the world's largest food group, is buying the British pet food delivery company Tails.
com, the Swiss giant said on Monday.
The deal, made by its Nestlé Purina PetCare unit, will strenghten the group's position on the rapidly growing personalised pet food market, it said.
Launched in 2014, Tails.com has brought tailored dog food to consumers "at competitive prices." Using a proprietary algorithm developed by vets, nutritionists and software engineers, the company now feeds more than 100,000 dogs in the UK.
