bpost: fourth-quarter results in line with guidance
(CercleFinance.com) - bpost's fourth-quarter results were in line with guidance, the Belgian postal operator said on Wednesday.
Operating revenue fell by 1.6% to 1.1 billion euros over the last three months of 2019, due to a decline in mail volume and lower building sales, the company said.
bpost reported fourth-quarter EBIT of 63.4 million euros, with adjusted EBIT of 69.2 million euros, representing a margin of 6.2%.
It has hence delivered on its promises, with full-year adjusted EBIT of over 300 million euros, at 310.8 million euros.
The company said that it is closely monitoring the potential impact of the COVID-19 virus, warning that there could be negative impact on its 2020 results.
bpost shares were up over 4% on Euronext Brussels towards lunchtime on Wednesday.
