Bekaert: dust settles on quarterly revenue
(CercleFinance.com) - Bekaert announces that is has achieved consolidated revenue of 1,052 million euros for the first three months of 2018, down less than 1% compared to a very solid first quarter of 2017.
The Belgian group specifies that the considerable effect of unfavourable currency fluctuations (-6%) and the negative impact of disposals, acquisitions and divestments (-2%) crushed the organic turnover growth of +7%.
The specialist in steel wire transformation and coatings adds that the combined effect of the repercussion of price hikes in wire rod and the price-mix effect stimulated revenues by +6%.
