KBC: in the lead in Brussels after 'excellent' results
(CercleFinance.com) - KBC on Thursday posted "excellent results" for 2017, as the Belgian financial group benefited from a sustained economic expansion and only moderate inflation.
Net profit rose 6% to 2.57 billion euros over the last year, after it booked a net profit of 399 million euros in fourth-quarter, impacted by a one-off negative effect of 211 million euros due to the Belgian corporate tax reform.
However, the tax reform will have a recurrent positive impact on income taxes for the Belgian units going forward, the group said.
KBC also said that it would pay a dividend of 3 euros this year, which was warmly welcomed by investors: the BEL 20-listed shares were up 2.3% at 75.1 euros this morning on Euronext Brussels.
