Vodafone: deploys autonomous 5G Core network in Spain
(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone Spain has announced that Ericsson will be its main technology partner for the deployment of a standalone 5G Core network for residential customers.
Based on Ericsson's dual-mode 5G Core technology, this solution aims to reach 90% of the population and more than 3,700 towns by the end of the year.
Ericsson says the four-year agreement will improve network operations and the customer experience.
The standalone 5G Core will integrate advanced features such as network slicing, latency reduction and edge computing, offering greater energy efficiency, optimized coverage and increased data rates, the Swedish firm explains in essence.
