ABB: EU approves creation of joint venture
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture by ABB AB of Sweden, part of the ABB Group of Switzerland, and Wallenius Marine AB, part of the Soya Group, both from Sweden.
The transaction mainly concerns the ship management sector.
The Commission concluded that the notified operation would not give rise to competition concerns, given that the joint venture has negligible activities in the European Economic Area and that the market positions of the companies resulting from the proposed operation are limited.
