Alstom: strengthens position in Sweden, Alpha Trains deal
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced that it is strengthening its presence in Motala (Sweden) by creating a center of expertise dedicated to the complete maintenance of Traxx Universal locomotives.
This center brings together under one roof Alstom's maintenance expertise, from routine maintenance to extensive repairs, including operations on axles and bogies, as well as signaling systems.
This investment in Motala [contributes] to making rail transport and freight transport even more sustainable and competitive, which is a key element of our long-term strategy, it says.
The full service agreement with Alpha Trains, Europe's leading locomotive and train leasing company, is an 8-year contract for ten Traxx Universal locomotives.
The contract covers preventive and corrective maintenance in Motala's workshop, as well as the support of a mobile team for field repairs and a hotline for drivers seeking technical assistance, to ensure maximum availability.
