Rio Tinto: resumption of operations at Dampier after cyclone
(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto announces the resumption of operations at its East Intercourse Island (EII) facility at the Port of Dampier, Western Australia, following flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Sean.
Activity at the railcar unloader resumed last week, and the first ship was loaded.
The ports of Dampier and Cape Lambert were also affected by several cyclones, resulting in an estimated loss of 13 million tons, half of which is expected to be compensated.
Iron ore shipment forecasts for 2025 remain unchanged at between 323 and 338 million tonnes.
