bpost: share plunges with no dividend for 2024
(CercleFinance.com) - bpost announced on Friday that it has decided not to pay a dividend for 2024, as its accounts are in the red.
This announcement triggered a heavy fall in its share price on the Brussels stock exchange.
This morning, the Belgian postal operator reported adjusted Ebit of E224.9m, in line with its forecasts, but down on the E248.5m published for 2023.
For 2025, bpostgroup says it expects adjusted Ebit of E150m to E180m, again down y-o-y, for revenues that should grow by a high single-digit percentage (top of the range).
2025 will be a year of transformation as we evolve to become a regional parcel logistics expert, management says.
In view of the negative IFRS net income for 2024, the operator has indicated that it plans to propose no dividend payment this year at its next AGM in May.
Following these announcements, the share dived over 22% by late Friday morning, compared with a modest decline of around 0.7% for the Belgian stockmarket.
