Thales: closer cooperation with the United Arab Emirates
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), announces that it has signed a contract with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) - the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) science and technology hub responsible for the country's space services and space exploration programs - to design and develop the 'Emirates Crew & Science Airlock' module to be docked to the Lunar Gateway cislunar space station.
This airlock module will enable astronauts to perform spacewalks and transfer experimental equipment both inside and outside the station, while also serving as an additional docking port for service vehicles.
