
Alstom: to produce traction systems for 158 trains
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that its Trápaga industrial site (Bizkaia, in northern Esapgne) has been chosen to produce traction systems and converters for 158 trains destined for Germany, Sweden and the UK.
These projects involve 61 commuter trains for Deutsche Bahn, 39 regional trains for Västtrafik and 85 trains for the Central line of the London Underground.
At the same time, the plant is expanding with new rail maintenance workshops.
Covering 45,000m² and employing over 200 people, the site supplies traction systems for various types of trains, mainly for export.
