ABB: share buyback program completed

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB says it has completed its share buyback program launched in April 2024, under which it repurchased a total of 16,715,684 shares, or 0.
89% of its capital, totaling around $0.9bn.

The Board of Directors of the Swiss group intends to use the tranche of capital authorized at the 2023 AGM to cancel all the shares repurchased under this program.

As announced on 30 January, the Board has approved a new share repurchase program for capital reduction purposes of up to $1.5bn. It is due to be launched in early February and run until 28 January 2026.

In addition, ABB intends to buy back up to seven million shares by 28 January 2026, mainly as part of its employee share ownership plans. The electrification and automation specialist currently holds around 24,126,671 shares.
