Sopra Steria: acquires Aurexia in consulting
(CercleFinance.com) - Sopra Steria announced on Thursday evening that it was in exclusive negotiations to acquire Aurexia, a French management consulting firm specialising in financial services.
The technology group states that the plan to acquire 100% of Aurexia is part of its strategy to develop its consulting activities, aiming to double its size by 2028.
The company explains that it aims to generate over 12% of its revenues in this business by this date.
The operation should enable Aurexia to increase its capacity and expertise in this field, while reinforcing its presence within major French financial institutions.
Founded in 2006 and based in Paris, Aurexia supports the management teams of French banks and insurance companies in their development, operational efficiency and compliance projects.
With a workforce of 140 consultants, the firm expects to achieve sales of close to E20m in 2024, representing 11% growth in activity.
Sopra Steria, which already employs more than 400 consultants in the financial services sector in France, expects to complete the transaction in Q2.
However, in Paris this morning, Sopra Steria shares were down 0.7% on Friday morning following the announcement of this acquisition, whose financial impact remains "marginal" analysts say, while the market was up 0.2%.
The share has still risen by over 4% since 1 January.
