Meta: to invest $65bn this year
(CercleFinance.com) - Meta plans to invest $60bn to $65bn in 2025, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg says he sees as a 'defining year' for AI.
In a post on his Facebook page, Zuckerberg says his group is currently building a data center with a capacity of over two GW and a surface area so large that it could cover a large part of Manhattan Island.
The head of the US social networking giant also says he expects his Meta AI assistant to be used by over a billion people as early as this year.
Mark Zuckerberg adds that the company intends to strengthen its teams dedicated to AI research and development (R&D), with the aim of continuing to invest in the field over the coming years.
He says that this is a massive effort, which will support our core products and activities over the next few years, unlock a historic wave of innovation and increase America's technological lead.
