Vicat: leads SBF, as Barclays finds stock attractive
(CercleFinance.com) - Vicat shares were one of the biggest risers in the SBF 120 index on the Paris Bourse on Thursday, with Barclays deeming the stock attractive in view of its valuation differential with competitors.
At around 2:10 pm, the cement group's shares were up 3.7%, compared with just a 0.3% gain at the same time for the SBF.
In a note, Barclays considers that the valuation differential with its comparables - illustrated by a 25 percentage point underperformance last year - is not justified.
While acknowledging that the company's cash flow (FCF) has struggled to take off since 2021, following the Covid crisis, the research firm believes that the situation could soon improve as recent investments in Senegal should bear fruit.
The analyst therefore upgrades his recommendation on the stock from 'equal weight' to 'overweight', with a target price raised from E41 to E47.
