GE Vernova: 1 GW of repowering orders in 2024

(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova announces that its Onshore Wind division has received orders for the repowering (the process of modernizing or replacing key components) of more than 1 gigawatt of wind turbines in the US in 2024.

These projects will use nacelles and transmissions manufactured in Pensacola, Florida, where around 20% of employees are veterans, to enhance US energy abundance, affordability and security.

The orders are expected to reach commercial operation between 2024 and 2027.

Repowering improves the capacity, production and durability of existing turbines.

Vinayak Tilak, Managing Director of Wind Services Operations, emphasizes that this initiative increases annual energy production and extends the life of wind farms.
