Bouygues: collaboration agreement in low-carbon cement
(CercleFinance.com) - Bouygues Construction, Bouygues' main subsidiary in terms of sales, announced on Thursday the signature of a partnership with Ecocem, a French specialist in low-carbon cement technologies.
The company explains that the aim of this collaboration is to promote and facilitate the use within its projects of Ecocem's 'ACT' technology, which is expected to deliver a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions compared with the European average for cement emissions.
Following extensive laboratory testing, Bouygues Construction plans to conduct a number of initial large-scale field trials.
Once this stage has been completed, a full-scale mock-up, including all structural components (slabs, walls, columns and beams), will be built under normal site conditions to enable a full evaluation of the use of the technology.
