Airbus: Spain orders 25 Eurofighters

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announces that the Spanish government has signed a contract with the NETMA agency for the acquisition of 25 Eurofighter aircraft as part of the Halcon II program, designed to replace part of the Spanish Air and Space Force's F-18 fleet.

This contract, which follows an order for 20 aircraft in 2022, will increase the Spanish fleet to 115 Eurofighters by 2030.

The new aircraft will strengthen Spain's air power, its position within NATO and its industrial footprint.

According to Mike Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space, this program is an example of industrial cooperation between nations and companies.

Eurofighters are assembled at the Airbus site in Getafe, Spain, creating more than 16,000 direct and indirect jobs in the country.
