Unilever: receives offer to acquire Unox and Zwan
(CercleFinance.com) - Unilever has announced that it has received a binding offer from Zwanenberg Food Group to acquire the Unox and Zwan brands.
The two iconic brands have been part of the Unilever portfolio for almost 100 years, the Dutch brand Unox since 1937 and the Belgian brand Zwan since 1928.
Unilever wants to focus on fewer, larger brands in categories such as cooking aids, mini-meals and condiments.
Unilever said that Unox is a well-loved and iconic brand in the Netherlands, and the decision to divest was not an easy one.
