Carlsberg: EU also approves Britvic takeover
(CercleFinance.com) - Under EU Merger Regulations the European Commission has cleared the acquisition of sole control of Britvic (UK) by Carlsberg (Denmark).
The transaction mainly concerns the production and distribution of soft drinks.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active.
The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) also announced this morning that it had approved Carlsberg's acquisition of British soft drinks manufacturer Britvic, a deal valued at around 4.8 billion euros.
Britvic, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange's FTSE 250 index, boasts a portfolio of 39 brands, including Teisseire and Pressade in France, which it markets in around 100 countries.
