Boeing: to invest $1bn over 5 years in South Carolina
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announces that it will invest $1bn to expand its operations in Charleston County, South Carolina, creating 500 jobs over five years.
The investment will support increased production of the 787 Dreamliner, targeting a rate of 10 airplanes per month by 2026.
The North Charleston sites at International Blvd. and Patriot Blvd. will benefit from the improvements, while the Orangeburg facilities will be unaffected.
New operations are scheduled to begin in 2027. Scott Stocker, Vice President of the 787 program, emphasizes the commitment to the team and the community.
