TotalEnergies: three renewable energy projects in Oman
(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its multi-energy strategy in the Sultanate of Oman, TotalEnergies and its partner OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE) have signed major agreements to develop 300 MW of renewable energy projects in the country.
With 49% and 51% stakes respectively, TotalEnergies and OQAE will develop three renewable energy projects (one solar and two wind, each with a capacity of 100 MW), with construction starting in early 2025 and electricity production scheduled for late 2026.
These projects will generate over 1.4 TWh of renewable electricity per year. The electricity will be delivered through long-term supply contracts (PPA) to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the Sultanate's leading exploration and production company.
