Holcim: acquisition in Australia
(CercleFinance.com) - Holcim's joint venture Cement Australia is to acquire a division of the Buckeridge Group of Companies (BGC), which will strengthen its position in Western Australia.
Cement Australia will acquire assets such as a cement grinding plant with significant annual capacity, a transport fleet and a nationally accredited innovation center.
The BGC division to be acquired includes cement, concrete, quarries and asphalt, as well as its Materials Technology Centre.
Cement Australia, a joint venture between Holcim and Heidelberg Materials, is one of Australia's leading suppliers of construction materials and solutions.
Martin Kriegner, Holcim's Regional Head for Asia, Middle East and Africa, and President of Cement Australia said that with its state-of-the-art facilities, the acquisition will strengthen Holcim's leadership in sustainable and innovative construction solutions.
