Nexans: contract for wind farm in the North Sea
(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans has been awarded a major contract by ScottishPower Renewables (a subsidiary of Iberdrola) for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm project, located around 33 kilometres off the Suffolk coast in the southern UK North Sea.
The Group will supply and install around 100 kilometres of 275kV high-voltage submarine export cables, as well as 55 kilometres of onshore cables to connect the wind farm to the UK power grid.
The cables will be installed in 2027 and 2028, with the project's commissioning scheduled for late 2028. With an installed capacity of 960 MW, East Anglia TWO will be able to power almost one million homes.
