Safran: inaugurates a 'unique' test center in Belgium
(CercleFinance.com) - Safran has announced the inauguration of the BeCOVER test center in Herstal, Belgium, dedicated to compressors for civil and military aircraft engines.
According to Safran, this 3,000 m² facility, featuring advanced, environmentally-friendly technologies, will provide a unique offering in Europe, notably thanks to its closed air loop system simulating high-altitude conditions.
From December, it will test a prototype high-speed compressor for the CFM RISE program, which aims to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80% using sustainable fuels.
The site will also be open to industrialists, academics and researchers for studies on turbomachinery.
