Eni: agreement with Ivorian Ministry of Water and Forests
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that it has signed an agreement with the Ivorian Ministry of Water and Forests for a project to preserve and restore the country's forests, including 14 forests covering 155,000 hectares in the Lagunes and Comoé regions.
The project has two main thrusts: the conservation of existing forest heritage (with reinforced measures against deforestation, fires and poaching) and the restoration of 130,000 hectares (via the planting of 12 million local trees), accompanied by agroforestry initiatives.
This project supports Côte d'Ivoire's national development plans and is aligned with Eni's strategy to reduce its upstream net emissions.
