Philips: extended strategic collaboration with AWS
(CercleFinance.com) - Philips announced Tuesday that it has extended its strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will now host its diagnostic technologies within its cloud infrastructure.
The Dutch healthcare equipment specialist says that Amazon's cloud division will also integrate its radiology tools, digital pathology services and advanced intelligent visualization (AI) systems.
Philips explains that the initiative aims to bring together all its diagnostic workloads within a single architecture, to improve data access and achieve better clinical outcomes.
Philips has already successfully migrated applications from more than 150 sites in North and Latin America to its next-generation Philips HealthSuite Imaging platform for radiologists and clinicians on AWS, a migration project that is now planned for Europe.
