(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova announces that it has been awarded a contract by Powerlink, Queensland's state-owned transmission company, to supply 69 'Dead Tank' circuit breakers (DTCBs) rated 245 kV and above, as part of the Capital Work program.
The equipment is designed to support Queensland's renewable energy targets of 70% by 2032 and 80% by 2035, while enhancing the resilience of the electricity grid.
The DTCBs, manufactured by GE Vernova's Suzhou, China plant between August 2025 and March 2026, play a key role in the reliable integration of renewable energy and the protection of the grid against overloads.
This contract is part of a long-standing collaboration with Powerlink, aimed at accelerating production lead times and strengthening energy infrastructure.
