ABB: joins forces with Sweden's Boliden
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has announced a partnership with Boliden, dubbed the Swedish mining and smelting pioneer, to integrate its low-carbon zinc into its low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
With a carbon footprint 75% lower than conventional zinc, the partnership aims to make electrical infrastructures more sustainable.
ABB's electrical distribution solutions, galvanized with Boliden's low-carbon zinc, are now present in Boliden's mines where zinc ore is mined.
ABB aims to integrate 80% of its products into its circularity approach by 2030, adopting low-carbon materials. Its Kabeldon cabinets, which have a verified environmental declaration, now use this zinc, helping to reduce the environmental impact of electrical infrastructures.
