Siemens: signs contract with UAE ministry
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Smart Infrastructure has signed a contract with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a decarbonization program that will deliver energy and water savings of 27%.
Under the contract, 60 public buildings will be equipped with technologies focused on energy efficiency and user comfort.
The energy savings target is equivalent to a reduction of 15,400 tonnes of CO2.
The program follows a comprehensive study in which Siemens successfully implemented retrofits in a representative sample of seven Ministry buildings.
To accelerate decarbonization, we will deploy innovative and scalable solutions such as this program, which will serve as a model for building decarbonization. Together with the Ministry, we will not only boost the energy efficiency of buildings, but also make a significant contribution to the UAE's sustainability and energy efficiency goals, Siemens said.
