Equinor: $335m contract for Deepsea Bollsta platform
(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces that it has awarded Northern Ocean Wind AS a firm two-year contract to operate the Deepsea Bollsta mobile platform on the Norwegian continental shelf.
The contract, worth an estimated $335m, is scheduled to start at the end of 2025 and includes five one-year options.
Our ambition is to maintain our production from the Norwegian continental shelf at a high level by 2035, in order to meet Europe's energy needs. Our ability to continuously drill new wells is at the heart of this ambition, said Kjetil Hove, Executive Vice President of Exploration and Production Norway (EPN).
The platform, currently in Namibia, will be operated by Odfjell Drilling, which is already collaborating with Equinor on three other platforms.
We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Odfjell Drilling, which has demonstrated a strong culture of safety and performance. This will add flexible capacity to our drilling portfolio, it added.
