Air Liquide: hydrogen chain along River Seine
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announced on Friday that it has decided to invest E50m in a new hydrogen packaging and supply chain along the River Seine.
The industrial gas manufacturer explains that the project is designed to support the strong growth in the number of hydrogen vehicles on the Seine Axis, which stretches from Le Havre to the Ile-de-France region.
The group mentions both the development of hydrogen cabs - the number of which should triple between 2023 and the end of 2024 - and that of corporate fleets of light commercial vehicles, hydrogen buses and trucks.
In detail, Air Liquide intends to dedicate around a quarter of the production capacity of its 'Normand'Hy' electrolyzer, based in Seine-Maritime, to the supply of renewable hydrogen for decarbonized mobility on the Seine Axis.
It says that this represents the equivalent of the consumption of 500 hydrogen-powered trucks or 10,000 passenger cars.
