Schneider: acquires majority stake in Planon
(CercleFinance.com) - Schneider Electric is to increase its stake in Planon to 80%, the French provider of management software for smart buildings, the company announced on Thursday.
With this merger, Schneider Electric and Planon intend to accelerate their activities in the digital transformation of buildings, a fast-growing market.
The companies in particular explain that they want to strengthen their offer in cloud solutions optimizing data usage and building performance, and integrating integrated work environment management (IWMS).
Ubigreen, Planon's strategic subsidiary, has developed a suite of innovative solutions for monitoring, analyzing and controlling building energy performance in real time.
The Ubigreen Energy platform, based on state-of-the-art sensors manufactured in France, enables companies to centralize and optimise their energy consumption data.
Under the terms of the agreement, Planon will be integrated into Schneider's energy management division.
