Euronext: decline in spot activity in October
(CercleFinance.com) - Activity on Euronext's cash equity markets fell slightly in October, according to the latest figures published Monday by the stock exchange operator.
The group states that the average daily volume on its cash markets was down 3% on October 2023, at just over 2.3 million transactions.
Sequentially, average daily trading volume nevertheless increased by 4%.
Over the first ten months of the year as a whole, daily cash activity was down by 6% compared with the same period in 2023.
In a sign of the sluggish IPO market, Euronext says it counted just two fundraising deals last month, bringing the YTD total to 35, compared with 49 in the corresponding period last year.
On the Paris Bourse, Euronext shares gained 0.5% on Monday morning in the wake of these figures, while underperforming an SBF 120 index up 1.2%.
