Siemens: new short-circuit-proof starter
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens announces the launch of e-starter ET 200SP, its first fully electronic starter based on solid-state technology.
Offering short-circuit protection claimed to be a thousand times faster than traditional devices, this starter is expected to 'significantly' reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
Designed for industrial environments, including food processing, the new ET 200SP e-starter can detect a short-circuit current extremely quickly and interrupt it immediately.
This prevents potentially damaging short-circuits from occurring in the first place. Once the cause of the short circuit has been eliminated, the device is immediately ready to be restarted, Siemens says.
The e-Starter incorporates the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) automation concept and offers optimised starting, thanks to Smart Start technology, reducing current peaks and mechanical wear.
Certified Siemens EcoTech, this product will be presented at the SPS show in Nuremberg, from 12 to 14 November 2024.
