Nokia: extends contract with Taiwan Mobile
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has signed a one-year extension to its 5G contract with Taiwan Mobile to improve the performance and capacity of Taiwan Mobile's 5G network, as well as upgrade its 4G/LTE network.
This will increase capacity and coverage and deliver a better user experience for TWM customers, who number around 10 million, including in rural areas.
As part of the agreement, Nokia will supply Taiwan for the first time with equipment from its industry-leading AirScale 5G range.
The project will upgrade thousands of existing LTE sites for greater energy efficiency, contributing to Taiwan Mobile's sustainable development goals.
Nokia said that it is deploying the latest energy-efficient equipment from our AirScale range, which will enable a greener network with reduced environmental impact, contributing to the operator's sustainability goals.
