Esso: completes asset sale to Rhône Energies
(CercleFinance.com) - Esso SAF announces that it has completed the sale of its refining and logistics activities in the south of France to the Rhône Energies company, with the transfer of the group's personnel working at the divested sites.
This sale includes the Esso Fos-sur-Mer refinery and associated inventories, as well as the Esso Toulouse and Villette-de-Vienne depots and the shares held in the Dépôt Pétrolier de la Côte d'Azur joint venture.
The Fos refinery, with a production capacity of around seven million metric tons per year (or approximately 140,000 barrels per day), will therefore operate under the authority of Rhône Energies as of 1 November.
The transaction was concluded for a consideration of $130m, plus the value of the inventories sold at closing. Esso will continue to supply the French market with energy and specialty products.
